Krueger, scientist-investigator for the U.S. Office of Research Integrity, speaking on a panel at the CSE annual conference in 2011 on data-image integrity, discussed the factors that drive the incidence of inappropriate manipulation.  His presentation emphasized the ORI’s tools for examining images, gave suggestions for helping reviewers and authors, and raised questions of journals’ obligations.  (panel presentation at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Council of Science Editors)
